Creating a Lifestyle of Prayer
Prayer is most effective when it isn't something we do every now and then but when it's a lifestyle we cultivate. Prayer is strengthening our connection and dependance on God.
To understand how to have a lifestyle of prayer, we can look at the example of Jesus gave during His life on earth.
1. HAVE A CERTAIN TIME
Jesus got up early in the morning to spend time with His Heavenly Father.
Whether it's in the morning, at lunch, on the train, or in the evening, make a daily appointment with God and faithfully keep it.
2. have a certain place
Jesus had a specific place He went to pray.
Having a designated place to pray helps us remove distractions and frees us to worship and pray out loud.
3. have a plan
When Jesus taught His disciples how to pray, He gave them a prayer outline. (Luke 11:1-13)
Example 15 minute Prayer Plan:
5 min of reading your bible - Learn how to read the bible and find resources to help you here.
5 min of worship - Praise God for who He is and what He has done in your life and our church.
5 min of prayer - Ask God to reveal any sin in your life and seek His forgiveness. Then, pray for your needs, as well as the needs of your family, church, and the world.

Fasting
What is fasting? Fasting is sacrificing an everyday craving (social media, food, hobby, etc) to have greater clarity as we seek God. Put simply, prayer is strengthening our connection to God, while fasting is weakening our connection to the world.
